    Posted: 12 May 2011 at 2:02pm
I just ended up having to dump a large portion of the money I was saving for my high-end build into repairs for my car. Cry

I have toned down my original build to a more budget-friendly build, and was wondering if it would still have the 'balls' to compete with the current games out there, as well as maintain some longevity before having to upgrade again.

Let me know your thoughts, and thanks in advance! Awesome

(I'm only listing the items from the original build that I am either downgrading or removing)

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core)
Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series SSDSA2CW120G3K5)
Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology)

New Downgraded Budget Config:

Ticket Number: 540741
Total Price with Instant Savings: $1,584.00

(Btw, as I mentioned in a previous post, I do listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of movies, so good sound is quite important to me. The added sound card is a 'must-have,' as well as a preference, over the 120gb ssd.)

You can add the sound card anytime easily, go with the 2600K and if you can go with the 570, I wish you had posted in your original thread, cause right now I don't remember all details of what you wanted, res, expectations, etc.

My apologies; I didn't even think about posting this in my original thread.
Here's a link to it for easier access:

I'll just add the sound card later down the road.

Looks good to me, exactly, sound card, ssd, etc all can be added easily, when you are ready to do so, if you need help come back here and we will walk you thru, or call DS and they will walk you thru on the phone if you like.

this way by the time you add the sound card and ssd, the system is complete and strong from every direction, and most importantly you will get the most out of your pc, cause your system's power is balance, as all the parts are high performers in their area, bringing the best to each area of your system, to offer you the best the system can do, no bottle necking anywhere.

Thanks again for your's and everyone else's help on this Forum; it is much appreciated. Also, I figure adding the sound card later on down the road gives me more choices if I wish to add something else besides the Creative or Auzen cards.

Edit/Last (and hopefully final) question: I'm not really too tech-saavy on the power supplies, but will the 750w Corsair be adequate for the above build, especially after adding the additional sound card and 120gb ssd later on?

Awesome

Yup 750w corsair will be plenty. Would really only need a 1k psu if you decide to go sli.

As CMA said, the 750w is plenty for upgrades, only thing you can't do is sli. to go sli you need bigger psu and different mobo.
