I have been around for 3 years and finally bought a Digital Storm Computer. Although I have had some minor problems (some from my own lack of knowledge), I would make this purchase again, without hesitation.
My Computer: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Corsair Obsidian 550D Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50 GHz (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) (Requires Z77 Motherboard) Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 (Intel Z77 Chipset) (Features Thermal Armor and Thermal Radar) System Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (180GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 520 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB (Includes PhysX) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: H20: Stage 2: Corsair H100 Liquid CPU Cooler (240mm Radiator) (Extreme-Performance Edition) H20 Tube Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Memory Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory OS Boost: FREE: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Medium) A Beautiful Machine. The wire routing is excellent! Shipping was quick and everything was in place. I had some problems due to using the USB 3.0 ports with USB 2.0 devices such as the mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Thanks to Alex for helping me understand the differences and that they are not simply backward compatable as was the USB 1.0/2.0. The only other problem is my DVD sutters and makes noise when running. I will look into this more, but it is a very small thing. Just trying to put it all out there honestly. That being said, when this is the only problem with sofisticated electronic equipment that is powerful enough to run a small country, I believe this is a major compliment! Notes: I am not an expert or a trained technician. I have built several computers over the years and thought about building this one. Let me tell you, for the price difference, I now realize I should have been buying from Digital Storm all along. Thanks again to Alex and some other customers, especially bprat22, for all the help. @cusafr,
Thank you for taking the time to post the review. In regards to the DVD drive, feel free to contact our team directly, we can try to see what may be the issue and take care of your concerns. In regards to photos, you should resize them to be no wider than 780 pixels and save them as JPEG's with compression at about 60% to reduce the size of the image. You can do this even in Microsoft's Paint application. Afterwards, you can edit your post, and click the image with a tree to upload images.

I'm jealous. I have to get me a gtx 670. Maybe if I do a real nice job remodeling our bathroom myself next week my wife will feel my pain.
Maybe a glass or two of wine will help. All kidding aside, enjoy a real nice DS rig.

Yea. I was fortunate. On the day the gtx 670's were released I e-mailed DS and requested a change to my system from the gtx 570 to the gtx 670. They called me the same day said for only a few dollars more and bam they upgraded me that day. That is the kind of service that sets DS on top of all the other computer builders. As you know, I had a few problems, but with you and Alex's help, I managed to get everything back on track and even managed to post some pictures.
The Best is simply the Best!!!!!!!!! Jim |
