Hello all,
I'm about a week away from purchasing my new DSO system. Only been drooling over it for about 4 months now. Anyway, here are the specs. I'd appreciate any feedback.

I'm not nuts about performance, so I won't be swapping parts out every three months to reach that last nth of performance increase. Basically looking for a solid system that will last for a long time, and has good solid bones for upgrading. Mostly play RTS games with the occasional FPS.

MOBO -  I'm hoping that the 780 will give me slightly longer legs down the road.

RAM - Been through the whole 2 GB vs 4 GB debate. Going with 4 on this one.

HDDs - Going with 2. Going to use one as a backup of the other with Acronis True Image or some other backup utility.

Going with XP Home for now.

Current price is at $2602.

If you're going for XP Home, you'd probably be better off with 2gb instead of 4gb of RAM.  This is because XP Home doesn't use all 4gb, so the performance gain you'd see would be minimal.

Also, you may want to consider getting a RAID1 (Mirror) setup with your 2 HDDs.  You'll lose out on space (250gb, instead of 500gb), but your two drives will be exactly the same, hence the term mirror.  But this is mostly preference.

Other than that, solid choices!

My only concern with the case is the size of the thing. Ideally, I'd go with the Coolermaster Cosmos, but I've heard complaints regarding the heat on the inside.
