Just one thing is hanging me up. CPU. Haswell vs Sandy Bridge. I will be gaming and some flight sims, some Paint shop pro. No video editing. I have been studying both CPU's and of course there are +'s and -'s on both. My head is all mixed up LOL! I do know both are great CPU's. I'll have x2 gtx780 SLi and stage 4 WC. Any help will be appreciated on your experience's with the cpu in your beast!! Thanks

My opinion......Go with the Haswell. Its about 10-15% better than Ivy Bridge across the board and another 10-15% over the Sandy Bridge. The Haswell does produce more heat for the same oc but with water, not an issue at all.
If you meant Sandy Bridge E, i7-3930k, then thats a six core chip gaming won't use. Its a real nice chip and works just fine, just a few hundred $ more. THe SB E 3820 4 core chip is about the same price but Haswell gets my vote. Hope this helps. |

Sounds like your preparing yourself for a rather nice machine... Very similar to my setup! Hopefully you'll be able to post pics & review once you get it!

Yes, my setup is just like yours. I will post it soon as I found out how to. I see you have the Asus Maximus. Is that for maybe triple cards in the future? How is your machine? I bet you get good frame rates on all games!

MIne's still being built. Should have it sometime next week providing all goes well. I chose to use the Maximus VI Extreme for 3 reasons: maybe future triple SLI and it has wifi 802.11ac & bluetooth built-in. Plus, it matches my red/black motif of rest of the computer...
