Hello all,
I have been browsing around this site and forums for a while but this would be my first post. I am interested in replacing my old PC which has finally died yesterday RIP Blackbird002Cry
I have been eying the Aventum II for the longest time and now I am about to take the plunge. I noticed the awesome black Friday sale for the computers so I am ready to commit.

Budget: $8000 Max which includes tax and shipping.

Expectations: to make an awesome gaming system that will be future proof for a bit. I would like the rig to be quiet and cool. I am going to be running on 3 ASUS PQ321Q monitors.

Usage: The whole spectrum of gaming, mostly FPS BF4 etc...

Special Needs: I Have listed my saved configuration below. please critique. I will be purchasing later today or early Friday so the communities input would be greatly appreciatedBig%20Smile

Config: 897712

Some things I would like to point out:
  1. I chose one of the lowest CPUs as a cost cutting measure since I just got three 4k monitors as well as I plan on upgrading to an 4th gen extreme later down the road
  2. I chose windows 7 basic because I have a 7 professional upgrade disk I bought a very very long time ago which I have not use yet.
  3. I chose a 4TB mechanical HDD because I have a 480GB SSD card I plan to use as my primary HDD if I am able to transfer the contents from the 4TB to the 480GB.
  4. I chose onboard sound vs. a sound card as I have a usb headset I am using and loving right now. I will upgrade to a sound card once my headset dies and I get a new one.
  5. Most importantly, I did not forget to get my free shirt Big%20Smile.

I do have a couple of questions:
  1. Should I go for the dual 780 TI or just the regular dual 780?
  2. I know it does not belong in this section but I was wondering if you are able to purchase a computer using multiple credit cards?
Thanks in advance DigitalStorm community in advance for your input and help. I look forward to your posts. Excited

Better a quick answer even if I'm not one of the experts. For multiple monitors I definitely would go with at least a pair of Tis. You may want to consider the more expensive Titan for 3 monitors - that is where its extra memory is most useful - but never having gone with more than a single monitor I'm woefully ignorant in that area.

If you want to game on tri- 4K monitors, then a tri-sli, 3x Titan or gtx 780Ti is a minimum for high graphic settings.  The 4K monitors are , each, about the same as gaming on 4x 1920x21080 monitors.  You need a ton of horsepower.

I agree w bp22 - you'll probably need to go tri-SLI to run those monitors. Running 3x 4k monitors is the equivalent of running 12x 1080p monitors - that's a lot of pixels!! 24.9 million pixels vs 6.2 million if you ran x3 1080p monitors (which is what my setup consists of and I'm running 3x Titans). I would think the extra VRAM on the Titans would help here but there's so little comparison out there with the 780ti being so new (6GB vs 3GB). Also Win8.1 with it's ability to fully use DirectX 11.1 & 11.2 will help with fps especially in games like BF4. Noise suppression shouldn't be needed. Also, you'll be spending more money by upgrading your CPU going forward (essentially buying 2 CPUs). Have you considered upgrading to the 4930K and going with the HailStorm II case - especially with possibly needing a 3rd GPU?

Here's a build using the HailStorm II with 4930K & tri-SLI 780ti: 898272

Good Luck!!

If you want to run 3x 4K, youre going to need A LOT of graphics horsepower.

This will give you an idea of how GTX 780TI's perform on a single 4k monitor.

High or Ultra with surround 4k monitors at native resolutions isn't going to work at decent frame rates with currently available hardware. It just isn't up to it.
