i was going to go with the HAF case as that is what i currently have and i love it. does anyone have this virtue case that can give me some reviews on it? i ask cuz the virtue case is 95 dollars cheaper.

with the virtue, is it recommended i upgrade the fans? is that cooling system and those fans i chose solid choices? i never want the system to ever get hot.

im curious if i should keep the overclocking of the processor. my current rig was overclocked and within 2 years the power supply died and i had to buy another off newegg. my cousin, who is pretty knowledgeable with computers, said it may of died within a couple years due to the overclocking. as i said in previous posts of mine, im not very computer savvy so im assuming he is telling the truth.

how will the noise level be on this rig? my current rig is very quiet and i love that. looking for something similar.

other than that, i think it is a decent rig. ive been browsing other posts by other people with similar budgets. let me know what u think. im excited to hit the "buy" button. i hope DS is still the great company they were 3 years ago when i first bought /crossfingers

edit: forgot to mention. my budget is between 2200-2500. i think this rig comes to 2370 after discount. the system will mainly be used for gaming (mmos, LoL, fps) and streaming on twitch.tv etc. also will be watching / downloading movies.

Hi, Godhand456, welcome to the DS community. Your build looks good, the only thing I would mention is that if sound is an issue you could order a Slade at the same money. It will be a quieter build because the Corsair 550D case has sound deadening material inside. I posted a review and pictures of my Slade in the Review section. The 550D case has no side window so if you want to do some interior lighting the 550D case is not for you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Here is my Slade review post;

Performance matters. Non-Performance is not an option.

Welcome to DS Godhand456!

The PSU wouldn't fail because of OC'ing the CPU as it would only draw about 10-30W of additional power (depending on OC amount). DS is rather conservative on their OC'ing to provide stability, reliability & longevity to the CPU.

Looks like a good solid build and from other reviews I've seen, the 350D case is an excellent choice (essentially a baby 900D). I would have them add a second 140mm fan to the front (already has one 140mm there and a 120mm in the back). Along with the H100i on the CPU, it will take the CPU heat to the radiator rather than just dumping it internally. Can't really see any issues with heat on this build even if you added a second 770 down the road...

I have about the same build as you and I am happy with it temps are good and it runs with almost no sound at all I am adding a second gtx 770 soon just not Shure about the heat with a second card with the one card its working amazingly good build the case is very plain but that is what I wanted it to be the case is a small case maybe add a second fan to the front with the H100i pulling up top and the rear fan maybe adding one more intake fan that is about all I would do I have had full sized towers in the past I like the smaller towers myself and you have a micro MB so it fits the case just right

ok spoke with a DS employee via email and he recommended a bigger case than the virtue as the graphics card is quite large and if i ever wanted to add a 2nd one, there would be no room. he recommended the maraduer case. i looked at that case and it doesnt look to bad. so i may do that case or stick with the HAF. any advice on that?

noise is kinda important. not so important i need to upgrade / add alot of things but i love how quiet my system is now. it's an old haf case with maybe 1 upgraded fan and i added an interior blue light. like it alot.

The HafX is the best.  Roomy, quiet, superior air flow and can hold a large air cooler if you want tops in reliability.  Drooling  But, you might want a change.

The ODE 600T case is also a quality case with plenty of room and good airflow.  Plus, you can get a side mesh window for free, just ask, for up to 4x 120mm fans if needed.  Probably not, but that's an option.

Cases are a personal like/dislike so your choice as always.

The Virtue can't sli the 770?   I find that surprising but DS is the builder.  I would double-check that info.

The rep you talked to was incorrect. The 350D, which what they call the Virtue case, does have enough room for 2 graphics cards. It has 5 PCIe ports on the back. microATX motherboards only have 4 slots on them. The Gryphon motherboard does support a 2 card SLI, but the Z87M-PLUS does not. With 300mm GPU clearance even the longest shouldn't have a problem. You can fit twin GTX Titans in it. This is a review of the Virtue system with a 780, which is the same size as a Titan in it.

He wanted a quiet system. Which is why the Corsair 550D was suggested. The HAFX is a nice case, but with its open air design, it isn't going to be as quite as the Corsair 550D or the 350D (Virtue).

Not trying to sound rude or anything but I'm sure the people who have the haf x would say different. This is why the haf x is recommended so much because it has slow moving quiet fans that move lots of air.

ya my haf now is pretty quiet. id be surprised if something was quieter. so the virtue can fit dual cards then? ok imma have to check into this a bit more. here is what he said in the email:

The virtue is a fairly nice case with low noise however it lacks interior space. Having a gtx 760 or higher video card with such dimension is possible however if you wish to upgrade with sli ( dual cards) is likely not going to happen unless you choose a much smaller video card

i dont know if ill ever go SLI but i just want that option available if i decide to in the future.

Arkansas, as usual, is right.    The Hafx fans are large but only spin at 700 rpm.   They are quiet.    Looks can be deceiving.

The 550d is quieter if left all closed up, but cooling, especially for sli, is the sacrifice.

Newer gen video cards have reduced the need for max airflow.   But max airflow can be quiet.

Edit... just saw your post..... I really do think the 350d case can sli and it is a nice case.   You could ask DS to add the second 140mm fan to the front in case you sli. But, Hafx still rocks. Everybody wants the new cases and they are nice, but new isn't always better.   Just new.

You can fit 2 GTX 770 in sli in the virtue case I should know I have one you will how ever not have anymore slots left for other cards but that is the MB not the case
