I'm currently on the fence about when I should be buying a new system.

My main concern is the games I want to play are BF3 and SWToR. I want to play them maxed out or close to it. If I wait 2-3 more months, would I be able to get more bang for my buck by getting better hardware for the same price?

Using DST4ME's advice, I bought a Dell U2311H which runs at 1920x1080. I plan on running dual screens in the future.

I was thinking that the ODE level 3 would suit me, since it is powerful, seems like it will be relevant for a while and people here avoid the 590 like the plague.

So, should I wait till September(ish) or should I just by it now? Currently I have a laptop with no video card, so playing my current games like World of Tanks, Civ 5 and Supreme Commander 2 can be a slow experience.

I have a hard time waiting for my pop tarts to finish in the toaster oven let alone waiting to buy computer stuff. I would buy it and enjoy.

You will endup with more performance and if you plan on going tri sli,(and for dual/tri monitor setup, we recommend going dual sli with option of going tri sli if needed), then the current p67 is not gonna do it.

however it wont' be for the same cost, the highend platform will cost more, specially if you go with the 6 core cpu.

if it was not for the tri sli ability, I would not wait.

When you said you plan to upgrade to two monitors, did you mean that you'd be using that for gaming, because two monitors is actually not ideal for gaming. For FPS games your cross hair will be split down the middle between two screens since the bezel is in the middle. This problem is even worse in MMO's as your character would be cut in half. It's good for multi-boxing, but that's about it.

I plan on using the second monitor for desktop things only, such as minor video editing, web browsing and school work. I will use the 2nd monitor on things that support 2 screens in game, such as Supreme Commander.

I dont ever plan on going to 3 screens. It doesnt interest me, plus I dont have the desktop real estate to fit 3 in.

With that info, do you guys think I should wait or go for it?

Go for it.  The ODE level 3 will get you good performances on one monitor in all those games you listed.  The 2600k will be good for a long time.  Once the 570's start falling behind, you can always upgrade them at a later point.

I thought you were gonna game on 2 monitors, for gaming on one monitor, all you want 570 sli or single 570 with option to go sli, so the ode 3 has you covered.
