My system is a year old now and the Intel 320 SSD system drive is getting short on space so I want to add a second SSD. I plan to get Intel 520, clone the current drive and then make the new drive the boot drive and then use the 320 as an alternate drive. Not really a hardware guy per se but this seems pretty easy. Any gotcha's that I need to be aware of? Does Intel offer software to do the clone or should I get Acronis to do this?
While I am at I might add more memory as well so any suggestions on an upgrade there? My config specs: Case: 924 HAF X Processor: Intel core I7 2600k 3.40 CPU boost: Stage 2: Overclock 4.5 to 4.8 Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (B3 version without SATA 3g issue) Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ Power: 1050w Corsair Pro Silver Cooling: AIR Stage 2 Corsair A70 Dual 120mm HDD: 1TB Western Digital Cavier 7200 rpm OS: Win 7 Pro |

Why not use the SDD you have now as the OS and essentials? And then get like a western digital black for the none essentials? Just my opinion on it.
Anyway here is some video's by linus tech tips, he's rather knowledgeable in my opinion might find the info you seek in these. Arconis Intell Data Migration Edited by Divine - 18 Dec 2012 at 10:30am |
