Hello everyone. I enjoyed my DS system too much that I haven't been here for a while lol. Anyways, Im adding RAM sticks to my almost 2 and 1/2 years old vanquish level 3. My question is I have the XPG ADATA DDR4 2666 4G x 2 =8GB (That is what the sticker says on the RAM stick itself). Im just confused, as the BIOS says differently, DRAM Freq: (Capacity)8192 MB (DDR4 2133Mhz. Im getting 2  RAM sticks @ 4 GB per stick as I still have 2 slots available. THat should be enough not to be getting the "Windows- Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low" message on my Virtual MAchines running my MMO games :) Thank you in advance :)

The 2133mhz speed is probably the sticks base clock, the 2666 is the overclock speed set up in Bios XMP profile. The reason I say Probably, is because they do have 2666 sticks with that base speed.   The sticker is showing what it’s tested to do, Bios is showing its base speed. That’s my guess.

Check in Bios if an XMP profile was selected to get the 2133 to 2666.

Every memory stick, or most, have speed profiles, files, within its software that the motherboard can read.    It’s what the manufacturer has determined the ram can run at safely.   Within motherboard Bios is an XMP section where you can select one of the profiles.

A ram stick might ship, set to 2133mhz but also have 2666 and others to select in Bios.   A mobo will determine what it can handle.   

XMP is eXtreme Memory Profile.

I got in touch with one of the DS reps as I cannot wait for more reply from others on my post haha. Im buying 2x4GB more hehe.. Im into MMO game.. :)
