Hello, I ordered X17E laptop from digital storm not long ago but did not add SSD during ordering because of the budget. Now that Im willing to buy one, is there a guide or manual on how to attach SSD to this laptop?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure where the hard drives bays would be located in the x17E, but if you take off the bottom cover of the laptop you may be able to locate the SATA connectors.

In the x17 there is a hard drive slot underneath the CD drive, there may be one under there on the x17E as well.

If I can find a manual online for your laptop model I'll post what I find.
Good luck!

The difference is literally one of size.

mSATA drives are just an extremely small circuit board with memory and the control chip attached. There is no outer cover. mSATA drives connect directly to a special connector on the mainboard. Not all mainboards have this connector.

Regular SSDs have a larger circuit board and a cover to make them a standard 2.5" drive size. They use standard SATA data and power cables.

contact DS they will walk you thru, most likely there is a spot at the bottom of the laptop where you unscrew 4 screws and you see the hdd bay/s.
