Hey guys, I'm seeking some advice about digital storm PCs.

I am also wondering weather I should go with a model other than the bolt. Finally, i was curious about about gtx 780 vs 690 vs titan (keeping price in mind) Edited by Substract - 16 Jun 2013 at 4:27pm |

If you go with a 690 instead of a Titan you'll save about $100 but if you want the best single GPU for now go with the Titan.

What about the 780? Is it really worth it to go for a 690 or a titan, or will the 780 suffice for modern games? |

Edit: Forget what I said. As others have said 780 should do you good for less, just really realized how much less 780 is.

My thoughts.... the gtx 780 is the way to go. It is within 10% of Titan performance for hundreds less. Best bang for the buck. Titan is stronger but not by much.
The gtx 690 is not an option for Bolt because of the heat it throws. The 690 is two gpu on one card with single radial fan in the middle of the heatsinks. Half the heat goes out the back like most cards but the other half goes into the case. The gtx 690 is also only 2gb vram usable and not 4 gb as is advertised. Being a sli card, its 2x2gb vram for 4gb but vram doesn't stack in sli. So, 2gb vram. As far as case, the Bolt is a solid build and is a small case for those limited by space or just don't want a large case. The larger cases do have more room to work on or add parts and can use a full size power supply. Any case at DS will work just fine. Depends what you like. Hope this helps and good luck.

I second that 780 recommendation. It will MORE THAN just suffice for modern games, it will blow them out of the water.

I just upgraded to a Titan on my 4 year old DS system but it is real overkill compared with the 780 which is about the same bit several hundred less. But I wanted the Titan not only to game but to play with it in non-gaming applications due to its ability to run Double Precision 64 Bit Floating Point for workstation applications.
I think the 780 is the sweet spot for gaming performance/cost unless you are into super high resolution multi monitor configurations. |

From a peace of mind perspective, DS wont disappoint. Best for a reason.
I went titan, because I like shiny objects. Edited by bally7 - 17 Jun 2013 at 2:46pm |
