    Posted: 14 Jun 2012 at 10:33am
So I am new to DS and have been looking around to get a new gaming computer.  So looking for suggestions for a good config.

Looking for a dual monitor setup, main gaming monitor 23-24 inch at 1920x1080 resolution combined with a smaller secondary monitor(that I have) for multitasking.

Budget:
2000-2500$, this is excluding mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

Expectations:
Play SC2 / Diablo 3 / other games on high or next to high setting smoothly.
Also looking to have a dual monitor set-up, but gaming will be done on one monitor while just multitasking on the other.

Usage:
80% gaming and 20% multitasking / internet

So I am looking for suggestions for a config that meets my needs along with a suggestion for a good 23-24 inch 1920x1080 resolution monitor to go along with the config. Also looking at different mechanical keyboards, if you have a preference of one let me know. Just looking into my options for now.

Thanks ahead of time!
Andrew

Hi Majarkin......Welcome to the forums.

For your budget, I'd check out the ODE lvl 4, $2499, that has a sli, 2x gtx 670 to max out gaming on the 24" moniotr at 1920x1080 resolution.  It has a SSD, blu ray player and stage 2 oveerclocking.  It is a tough build to beat for the money.

For the low end of your budget check out ,again, the ODE lvl 3, $2049, with the single HD 7970 for great gaming with the games you mentioned and it has the blu-ray and SSD.  It doesn't allow sli, 2x gpu with the mobo.

For a custom build with the HafX case, the best for air cooling, the 750HX power supply which has a 7 year warranty and the Noctua D14 air cooler for tops in dependablility with the stage 2 overclocking then here's a build to start with.  This has a single gtx 670 which would be great gaming with the ones you mentioned and has the option of sli, 2x gpu in the future.  No SSD or blu-ray but can of course be added.

The ODE's are a best bang for the buck, unless there's something about it you don't like or need.

Lots of options and ways to go.  Really depends on the budget and what games you play now and in a couple of years.

The custom builds are more money, like this config compared to ODE lvl 3, for about the same gaming performance and less addons like SSD and blu-ray,  because you get to pick the parts you want instead of a pre-built with all good parts, just not what some want.

Lots of us have the Dell UltraSharp 23 or 24" monitors.  They look great.

See what you think and good luck.Big%20SmileBig%20Smile

Thanks for the quick reply.  I was definitely looking at the ODE lvl 4.  I just wanted some other opinions before I go and make a decision on anything.  I will definately check out the Dell UltraSharp moinitors.

Thanks again
