Is there much difference between the AMD vs Intel processors? I had been told AMD's were better for graphics but that info is as old as my current pc:

AMD AthlonXP 2200+, 1.8GHz
512 RAM (sad I know)
GeForce4 Ti 4600
Samsung SM225 monitor

I'm wondering for any of the ticket #'s above, is there any real advantage of having 4GB of ram vs 2GB? I'm also thinking an Intel chip w/ the Radeon HD 4850/70

My head hurts researching this... TMI

its a matter of preference between ati and nvidia you can go with either one

4GB will help you run what ever you want and got, with todays systems and games and apps you want 4GB IMO.

Warhammeronline uses about 3gb and if you are running any other programs at the same time 4gb will be very useful. Anything more than 4 you wont really use gaming for now at least. They are slowly releasing technology to bleed our wallets dry damn you intel.

After ordering, I was sent an email telling me the motherboard and GPU were incompatible.
I assume I need either an ASUS motherboard or a NIVIDIA GPU. I replied asking what my options were, but no word yet.
I've since received 2 emails indicating my build went to Stage 2 then Stage 3 in production. Guess I should make a phone call tomorrow

They are compatible. AMD cards work just as well on nvidia chipsets as they do on intel chipsets. And same goes for Nvidia cards...

You just won't be able to use CrossfireX on an nvidia chipset and the same goes for SLI on intel.

The tech probably just misread it or something.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
