Hello everyone! So I'm shopping around for a new computer and had heard of DSO. I wasn't too sure, but my brother pushed me towards it so I said sure, why not? And after two computers with Alienware, I figured, it can't be worse than that.
![]() This computer will be used primarily for gaming, mainly WoW. But also looking at some TF2, Mass Effect, Diablo 3. I'm currently using a 22 inch monitor at 1680 x 1050 and planning on getting a second, slightly larger monitor down the road. This is the config I've built right now. I'm not looking at going crazy, but do want to see some eye candy. Currently sitting at $2600 and I would like to keep it around there or lower if there are some components I'm including which are unnecessary. All advice is appreciated. If I've left out some info please let me know. If it's easier to just post the full config on here, let me know. Ticket number: 758439 And after looking through the forums, I did figure out this is already a better experience than Alienware. ![]() |

Hi Rubio. That's a nice build in a great air case, but it sounds like your budget is a priority. I wondered if you considered the Ode Level 4? A couple hundred dollars less expensive at $2499, and you get a 240 rad and SLI 670's. The Ode systems are the best bang for the buck.

I did look at the ODE systems, as it was mentioned throughout various posts in other config questions. It may sound silly, but no sound card is a deal breaker for me. Unless I missed something, I couldn't customize the ODE builds?

They have a black 600t. Ticket Number: 758578. At the bottom i think you can ask for the white case instead of black.

Hi Rubio... That config you put together is real nice. My suggestion would be to change the Vortex 120 to the Noctua D14 if you could. It is a bigger unit but is quiet and very dependable. No pumps, etc to go wrong. The Vortex units do have a decent reputaton so your call as alway.
I believe, and you'd need to email or talk to DS to make sure, they will install the sound card into the ODE 4 for the price of the unit plus $50 for changing a pre-built system.. You could also save $100 plus by going with the gtx 670, or 670FTW, for almost the same gaming as the 680. within 5-10%., the FTW about equal. But, can't knock the 680, it is a nice card. Drop the ram to 1600Mhz to save another $53, You'll never see the difference unless its for looks with tall heat spreaders. Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I like your suggestions. I was already debating whether to go with the 670 or 680 as they seemed pretty close and I didn't think I would notice a difference of 5 - 15 FPS. The other change I'm considering involves the soundcard. I've always used Creative, however, I'm thinking of not inlcuding a soundcard in the build and ordering separately and installing myself. I'm looking at the ASUS Sonar Essence ST or STX. Has anyone had any experience with any of these cards? I've read several reviews and everyone gushes about them. Thanks for your all's feedback. Love it!
