thanks e.f. thats almost exactly what i came up with just going to add 3 more gigs ram and thats in my price zone and ill add another card in cpl months! oh and another 500 disk drive also question is striped or mirror backup i know striped faster but really prefer to have a full backup as my daughters when they visit tend to screw things up hehe !

you can do what perlife posted i just wanted to stay under your 2000 budget but hey, its a budget they always go over.

and to answer your question you can follow dst's acronis backup guide im sure theres a version out there that can be pirated.
