I WILL be purchasing this if I am able to cancel my order with the other company I choose before they ship it out.

Basically you could say I just want a Crysis system... because if it could play that well I am pretty sure it could handle absolutely anything else for a few years.( I am making this statement based upon reading everyones frustration with trying to get more FPS out of their high end systems :)

I do play mostly RTS games, and if a game is good enough (crysis) Ill play it.  I was able to play the Crysis demo on my laptop (2.0 GHZ 2 core, 2gb mem, 256mb Graphics nvidia 7900) at the lowest settings with probably 20-25 fps.  Now I want more :(

Are there any upgrades / switches I could do to make the performance better for gaming?  Is my processor sufficient enough?  I am hoping to have the CPU and GPU overclocked.

I understand each system is different, but what increase do you think the CPU and GPU could be OC'd to?  I do not really have a limit on budget for this sytem, but I do not really want to spend a lot of extra money for just a small increase in performance.

You might want to consider investing in a quad core processor. A lot of upcoming games will start taking advantage of it. Developers even say that a lower clocked quad core will run the games better than a higher clocked duo.

You need a 64 bit operating system for the system to recognize 4GB. With your current config, you are going to end up with 2.9GB on a 32bit operating system.

Just a heads up, Crytek has indicated that the final version of the game will see up to a 60% incarese in performnce when using a quad core and a 64-bit OS.

You'll want one of those anyway if you're installing 4GB of RAM since that's the only way the comp will see all of it anyway.

Other than that, it's hard to find any faults with that config, it looks pretty screamin fast.

Also, just to note, if you go with the media reader, 2 of your front USB ports will not work. They need to use one of the USB 2 connectors for the reader.

A few notes:

Like Tyler mentioned, there should be a big performance gain in x64 Vista.  If you want the full benefit of those 4 gigs, you're going to want to go with that OS.

With the speeds that DS is starting to get the Q6600 to, you might want to go quad.  You'd really cash in if you combined that with the x64 OS.

Also, you might want to get in touch with Alex about Tri-SLI.  I posted a thread about the technology and he said they had been "messing" with it for at least a month.  There have been really big performance gains with Tri-SLI (especially in high-res with AA), so it's a very eligible setup for three 8800 GT's.

You can't do Tri-SLI with the 8800GT.

Tri-SLI will only be available to the GTX and Ultra at launch.

Ah, hadn't heard that yet.  I would assume they would be expanding it to include other cards later on though, right?

You need two bridge connectors on the PCB to do tri-SLI. So far they've only mentioned this as an option for high end cards/systems. Unless they come out with some sort of driver based version, it doesn't look like anything for the mainstream.
