My Budget: $5000-$6000max.

Expectations: Looking to expand dual-triple monitors eventually, but start off with one.

Usage: Extreme Gaming, Mainly RPG's and FPS. Also Extreme multitasking power.

Main: I'm actually looking for suggestions or advice on what to look for. I'm looking for a quite yet powerful system and will last for years to come. If money is allowed, I want maximum warranty, I believe it's 6 years and rush packaging. ( For school purposes). So if anyone has anything they can offer as advice, I would greatly appreciate it. I will gladly look at more than 1 config and if you can make a powerful system for less than 5K and meet my standards, then I will also take that. Thank you ahead of time. ;]

(Also, if you are able to add a monitor,KB and Mouse to the budget, I will gladly appreciate it.)

We can easily config you a system for under your budget to help with your future tri monitor setup.

However right now the newest tech is the midrange p67, for tri monitor setup we recommend dual sli with option to go tri sli or tri sli right off the bat.

problem is that the current new tech does not do tri sli correctly, so option is to go with the old platform of x58 or wait 3 months or so and go with the highend platform the x79.

right now we can config you a system on the x58 problem is that in 3 months for the same money you get lot more performance.

what size monitor you looking at? do you mind liquid cooling?

6 year warranty here means 4 year parts. keep in mind after the first 30 days you pay for shipping back and forth to DS if you need to send the pc in.

I can wait 3 months, since the school year isn't starting for a bit. I'm starting classes during the spring time, instead of the normal start of things..

Now referring to the monitors, 22"+ will do. I don't need anything over crazy. ;]

If I have to send my PC in for repairs, that is fine with me, I don't really have a big issue with that, I Just want to know my newly acquired PC will be taken care of when and if it comes to that.

And if you don't mind, can you explain a little more with the monitor situation.

Well DS has great customer service, so when things do go wrong they take great care of us.

for monitor you want to get a ips panel, ips panels have the best image quality/clarity, check out these:

Dell UltraSharp U2311H 23

Dell UltraSharp U2410

Dell UltraSharp U3011 30"

they go on sale a lot so you can get them for much better prices, eg, the 30" you can get for around $1100, the 23" goes on sale for $270/$250 a lot.

they are all ips panels and great monitors, IMHO if budget allows, an U30 now and maybe another down the road for dual or tri monitor setup would be fantastic, and with the pc we gonna config for you on the x79, its gonna be a great match up.

Now if you are looking to do 3D gaming, then that is a whole different story.

Well, if the PC doesn't drain me of all of my money, ( all of my budget ) I will definitely look into the U30. I Just took a look at them, and it looks amazing. So even if I have to buy 1 at a time, I think it will be an amazing idea! Thank you!Awesome

OH YA, Gaming on a 30" ips like the u30 is something else only thing better then gaming on a 30" monitor is gaming on 2 or 3, personally I can't wait for a proper 70" monitor or something like that with like 5760 x 3600 res, lol.

right I just configed a "fo" tri sli on the p67 with Full LC and price came to around $5000.

Now the highend cpu of x79 will be a beast and probably cost $900 more then the cpu in my config.

However for a single 30" you would go with dual sli 580, in my config I have tri sli, I did that so the price difference would represent the price difference in the cpus.

in short I think the pc we would recommend for you would be around $5000, give or take $200, so IMHO with $6200 you have the pc and monitor, I'm thinking that is worst case scenario.

Also we don't have to go Full LC either, not going lc on gpus, will save over $1500 I think.

So if I waited the 3 months for the x79; would it be a better deal, so I can just simply add the monitors 1 at a time ( most likely ), in the long run? If so, how much would change in the config that you currently put together for me, besides the extra $900. I'm curious really, but if the price goes to be around $6500 in that time, I think I can find the help for the extra cash.  Excited

I don't see that much of a price difference ($6500) happening, but again this is all my guesstimation.

if you wait, you get more performance for your money comparing to the x58.

you can read about it a little here

Hey DST, thanks for the website, definitely explained a little more on the x79. It's definitely worth the wait. Thanks for the heads up on it. When it is released on DS I will ask for more help on the hardware ;]
