I am not sure about the PSU and the Processor. Could shave several hundreds if I could get feedback. I'll just justify my reasoning:

1 SSD because this 4k machine is going to leave a dent in my wallet. Will get another one later for Raid 0. Already got a main HD for storage and a win7 64 bit ultimate.

Nvidia because I switched a long time ago from ATI and haven't looked back.

The 960 processor vs 930? It's going to be OC'd by DS but .40 mhz difference seems like a lot...?

The mobo... I read better reviews between the two EVGA le/micro.

I selected 1k power supply b/c who knows... I might just go sli later. Maybe I could still get away with a 750 corsair? I have 2 optic drives that I will be connecting in addition to this set up. I don't want to cut it too close but I am not sure where I am at in watts.

Also, when I get the stage 6 cooling... do I get the cool looking rings on the tubes? I hope this is a quiet machine =D

Its my main pc used for working in Photoshop/After Effects/Dreamweaver/Visual Studio/Eclipse as well as playing games...  WoW, counter strike source, and (soon) Bad Company 2.

I have a 24" wide screen monitor at 1920x1200 resolution. My 8800gtx has no struggle with WoW at full res/detail except in +50 man town raids.

this is not going to be quiet since the fans on the rads are not gonna be quiet.

I would go with a 5870, as an nvidia fan it pains me to say it but ati with support for DX11 has better performance, the current nvidia cards don't support dx11, those cards are suppose to come out end of this month or beginning of next month.

change the cpu to 920, no not the 960 nor the 930, there is no difference between all of them if they are all running at 3.7GHz lets say, so no reason to waste money.

if you want to go sli, go with a 1000w.

If i am getting stage 6 cooling on the video card wouldn't that remove the fan? I see the point about ati having dx11 and nvidia not having... grrrr.

Do you think 3.7ghz is pretty stable speed for all those processors? I always thought of having the fastest starting point meant the fastest ending point. Is that not an accurate statement? I probably won't do any OC myself anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.

I am a bit concerned about what you said regarding the noise. I sleep about 4 feet my machine ( separation anxiety lol ) so I need a quiet and powerful machine.

stage 6 removes the fans from the gpus yes, but how do you think the LC works, the liquid flows thru a radiator which then gets rid of heat, the rad does this with a fan, so no matter if you go with air cooling or liquid cooling, you have a fan, the fans used here in DS are loud, if you want your LC system to be as quiet as possible then you need low dba fans.

this the type of fans you need , you want to have the rads to use the D1225C12B3AP-13 model, you will also want to use a different rad, XSPC or Feser would be good rads to look at.

whatever case you get, you will also want to have its fans changed with the mentioned fans.

3.7 is a mild oc and don't worry about stibility, that is one of many reasons why I love DS, they oc the system, test it, and then put warranty on it with the oc, in short, if its not stable it won't pass their tests, and if anything ever goes wrong, you got the warranty, I went with the 5 years myself.

I love those scythe fans... I have them now on my p180 box. I am excited for this... question now is do I wait 2 weeks for nvidia or go with ati.

Do you recommend the crate shipping method? Are there any instructions for maintaining my LC system?

Thanks =D

I would wait for fermi to see the performance and prices.

I went with a crate myself.

LC system you just check your fluid levels once a month, tho they should be level, but if it needs a bit then you add some, which is very easy, other then that, you need to flush it once every 3 years.

if you're an nivida fan, i say wait. Regardless, i would wait to see how the new cards compete with ATI's 5800's. Its not like you'll have to wait until the summer or anything.....Broken%20Heart
