Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to all of you who read this,

I couldn't find a specific forum to put this in, so I just took a chance with General Discussion.

So the issue is, I ordered the old Forbus model laptop with a 17.3 inch screen last year, and it has definitely proved it's worth with a year and two months of pretty much acting as a mobile desktop.

The only problem is, for the last 3-4 months, it has been getting a white screen off and on, and I have to close the lid to put it to sleep (mid game mind you) so the white screen will go away for a few minutes.

When I went home on military leave, I took it to a local computer shop that I trust (they built my very first gaming PC for me) and they could not find an issue. They said all the cables were connected firmly. It couldn't be a GPU issue or CPU issue because it still works on an External display, such as my TV in my barracks room.

I have noticed though that when it starts having that white screen moment, sometimes pinching tightly on the bottom left of the screen will fix it, but as soon as a let loose my grip, it goes white again. I have no idea what the issue could be, since apparently all the cables are connected fine and the screen itself works. No GPU or Motherboard issue, and it doesn't matter if the laptop is warming up or its cool after just turning on. The White Screen happens at random times.

I just wanted to see if either of you could give me a little input. I have considered just saving and upgrading to a better laptop off this site anyway. (I won't get a desktop since I really don't have a good place to put it in my barracks room or a reliable way to transport a tower and monitor in the case of changing duty stations.)

If it goes away when pinching the lower left of the screen, with some laptops, the ribbon cable connecting the screen to the motherboard is right there.    Remove the surround bezel around the screen and look for a loose hookup.   The screws are normally under the bumpers that absorb its closing to the keyboard.

Hope this helps.
