As you know guys my choice 2 weeks ago for a gming pc was Alienware but I understood that the best choice was DS because i get the double for the same price. My mom and my brother said me "DS is just a poor brand and Alienware looks so much better... DS give you used chinese GPUS (Lmao lol
)...And i have been for the last week trying to build a good rig on DS online service.... Ticket Number: 212985 LOl is my last choice lol... this is hard.... i only can use 2000$ and in this build im using 2200$... Intel I7 is not cheap lol so i will use AMD for the next 2 years... until a have money to buy mobo and cpu... Now, if you guys want to help me gimmie a build but i want led fan and cathodes with H20 stage 1 lol :D Thankies |

That is by far the funniest thing I read so far. I can't believe myself. I would pay good money to see someone prove why an Alienware system is better than a Digital Storm over a multitude of factors:
1. Price
2. Performance Options
3. Support
4. Service
5. Looks
There is so much!
Cheers, Alex

They won't try. Because it'll show how overpriced and under performing the Alienware's are.
Can't wait till a new roundup of the top PC's from various companies get compared. MaxPC and CPU do it every so often. |

Well if you put the same parts from an Alienware computer and put it in a DS computer it's not like it's going to perform better...
Alienware isn't all that overpriced anymore, they released the 750i PC which is a mainstream system that starts at $1050.00. They also have an AMD PC that starts at $999.99.
Really the only difference between DS and Alienware is obviously the pricing, and much more parts to choose from on DS. But that doesnt really matter becuase you can just go out and buy your own parts in the future if you have an Alienware.
As for looks i like the Alienware case, i may add a side window to mine, i saw somewhere awhile ago some dude who did it to his and it looked beast.
oh and by the way i have an Alienware
My first choice would of been DS though.. but payment killed it.

Dude, I will tell you, I had a Alienware 51m laptop. and they totally screwed me and lots of others on the laptop when it came to trying to upgrade,, OMG, I could not even use manufacter software upgrades unless it came thru Alienware,, due to them putting some kind of info in the BIOS that had to match up with the software you got,. Im not going to get to tech on this, but I was so happy to get rid of my Alienware. (Ebay ftw!! lol), its your choice, but I have been very VERY happy with my DS purchase,, I can upgrade and do WHATEVER i Want to it!!
install whatever hardware or software!!. DS FTW!!

I had wanted an Alienware all my life. Now it came time to buy and Dell has taken them over. I called them several times and the sales people seemed like they had been smoking something. They really could not answer any of questions with an intelligent answer at all. I then realized my dream of a badass alienware pc was over. I then began the hunt for new place to buy, I kept all my options open after talking with many of the top venders I decided I would be crazy to buy anywhere else. So DS it is, I will know if I made the right choice in a few days.

I use to like Alienware too until I decided to buy a Digital Storm computer. Don't buy from Alienware unless you have a fetish for aliens and overpriced computers.

Alienware does not even offer what DS offers so how can they even compare themselves to DS when they don't even offer full customization? if they don't offer that then how can they say my system with parts that they don't have is better?
not to mention the lack of tech support, lack of customer svc, ability to upgrade in the future. I think the only way I can express how I feel about Alienware is this: ![]()

DST4ME I approve!
![]() I was looking into Alienware computers a while ago, and came pretty close to purchasing one. I can't say for sure what stopped me, but I decided to put it on hold. A few months later, a friend recommended me to DS, and here I am. Order's been placed, and until now, I've never experienced such amazing customer service in my life. Anywhere. |

I was thinking about purchasing an Alienware computer before I knew about Digital Storm. I'm glad that I didn't.
First I sent an e-mail to Alienware asking about triple-SLI. The person who responded said the 790i motherboard didn't support it, even though Alienware press releases said otherwise. Then I asked if I could upgrade it myself later. They responded by saying they would not provide support for such modifications. Finally I decided to go with 2-way SLI, and I configured a high-end Alienware system for about $5500. Fortunately I ran across Digital Storm before I purchased the Alienware. Wow! I was very impressed by DS reviews that I found, and I loved the easy layout of the web site. I eventually ran across this forum, and started to get a very good feeling about the company. When I discovered they were local to the Bay Area, that was it! I knew I'd be getting my computer from them. Best of all, I configured a computer from Digital Storm for the same price as the Alienware. However, I got all these extras: 1) Three 280 GTX's rather than two. 2) Higher quality liquid cooling. 3) Overclocking 4) A more rugged case, and more attractive case. 5) A better hard drive. 6) A better power supply. 7) Excellent sales and tech support. (Thanks James) 8) This forum. 9) A much better built computer. (Well, I don't have it yet, but I'm assuming.) :) Anyway, I'm really glad that I found Digital Storm. |

Ofcourse sites like this have lower prices ..to lure people in. And as i said Alienware isn't all that overpriced anymore, you are only losing about $200 now when you choose Alienware, before it could have been thousands.
And who cares about tech support anyway, figure it out yourself, you act as if you called Alienware up one day and they said"Hey you know what guy we dont know what the problem is, f**k off."
So um yea Alienware isn't that bad, i dont use PC for high-end games anyway because its common sense to just use a console for that.
PC is only good for Blizzard games.
Many of you are addicted to upgrading PC's 24/7, like a competition.

Sorry Alienware's wind up costing way more than DS with the same loadouts. Plus not only is DSO's support vastly superior to Alienware but their Warranty comes standard at 3 years (with the ability to go up to 5). Alienware charges you an extra $250 to get 3 (their limit). Computers are finicky pieces of technology, a lot of people can't fix the many types of problems that can occur both hardware and software related. DS has a wider selection of parts and they don't try to get you to buy stuff you don't need or BS you with marketing strategies. On top of that they can't customize your PC in virtually any way. Whether it's a specific brand of video card or modifying something on the case. They are willing to go the extra mile(s) for you. So the question remains, why pay more for a lot less? And on your biased comment about games, I own 2 360's, a PS3 and a Wii and while I enjoy them all, nothing can compare to Crysis at max settings or playing Company of Heroes. And I can't get enough Counter Strike: Source. PC gaming is still IMO the pinnacle of video gaming for a variety of reasons. There's a reason any game that comes out on both PC and consoles looks much better on a PC. I love consoles but they're not superior to PC's. |

I'm not saying Alienware is bad. I'm just saying Digital Storm is better, in almost every measurable way: Better price, better quality, better sales, better tech support, better warranty, better upgradability. |

Yea your are right about that, but its not reallu how it used to be anymore. I'd rather go with Alienware where i know im getting a good system with new parts in it rather than a site like Cyberpowerpc where its like a 50/50 chance on getting a PC that works.
This site is better than Alienware but Alienware is the 2nd choice.
Alienware isn't bad. They can play just as good as your PC it just depends on what you put in the system.

Sorry can't say I agree, I would go with an xps before I would go with Alienware.
Alienware costs more Alienware tech support sucks Alienware customer svs sucks Alienware systems suck Alienware takes too long to build their systems. the real deal is this, if you can't go DS then build it yourself or pay fnw lot more money then DS to build it, but never go Alienware, there is never a reason to go to Alienware, I would go to FNW before I go Alienware, Alienware is at the bottom of the list second to bottom is xps, cpberpower doesn't even make the list. google Alienware and when ever you get to the last page of complaints on Alienware, let me know
how many pages of bad reviews does it take? Edited by DST4ME - 06 Dec 2008 at 8:56pm |

Did you just use "high-end" and "console" in the same sentence? Don't get me wrong, I like consoles. However, I definitely don't consider them high-end. High-end is playing a game at 2560 x 1600 on a really fast PC with 2-4 GPUs, quality set to high, and anti-aliasing turned on. James |
