All Hail DS Randy

   I wanted to post this in Customer Reviews but the forum is read-only and I gather I would have needed a photograph of DS Randy to qualify.  So, here is my review, in General Discussion:

Yesterday I called DS tech support to help me debug a vexing problem with audio settings.  My problem could have been software-related (in my own defence it could have been system-related, too) yet Randy was really cheerful, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, persistent and unpatronising in his approach to assisting me with it.  He has a better bedside manner than my idiot doctor.  He never read set responses from a company bible -- isn't it creepy when that happens? -- he's obviously a gamer himself, which really helped, and he called me back when he said he would, rather than terminate the session when we had to wait for a download to finish.  One more thing: he didn't try to sell me anything.  It really, really annoys me when Earthlink tech support tries to sell me Norton AV as part of an assistance call; it's crossing a line and I resent it.

In the end, I troubleshot the problem myself but Randy would have stuck with me to the bitter end.  It's because of the quality of both the service and the product that I will never buy a computer, including laptops, from anyone else, now.

The only thing that bugs me about Randy is that he is probably 20 years younger then me.
