I have planned to purchase a new gaming rig since around November as I purchase one about every 4 years (2 years if the wifey decides that she wants one too).

During that time I have done countless hours of research on just about every computer building company out there (----------------, -------------- , -------------, etc.) and I believe I have finally settled on Digital Storm mainly because of the excellent reviews and 99% of the customers seem to be happy opposed to the what seems to be 20% from all the other builders.

The build I put together on DSO will cost me roughly $700 more than the "other" builders with the same build but I figure if the system works as it should and I have a much less chance of any issues then it is completely worth it as I don't want to have to deal with the headache of a non working system.

But before I make the purchase I had a question on the parts selection. I would prefer to have an Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3 Intel Z68 mobo and Corsair Vengeance 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 (two 4GB memory modules) but neither of which is an option from the selections on the Digital Storm Dreadnought. Would it be possible to get these parts instead of the other options from the list?

(Edit: I have removed our competitors names as we're a business after all and cannot host other company names on our forums - Alex)

@Vezra,

Thank you for your interest in Digital Storm, we would love to earn your business. I'm sure you will be very happy with your purchase. I am going to move your thread to the "Configuration Discussion" area where the rest of the community can help.

DST4ME, I think he is saying that the DS computer cost $700 more than the competitors. Not that his is spending $700 total on a DS computer.

Vezra, why don't you give us your budget, the resolution of your monitor and the Configuration number of your DS build. Then we can give you our opinions.

You probably don't need the Maximus or Corsair but if you look at the Dreadnought Option 3 you will see them listed. In some configurations if you click on Expert Mode you will see more equipment options.

As Frank said, I meant the system I put together on the "other" builders sites was around $700 less than what it would cost me to buy from DSO with the exact same parts.

As for the configuration, DSO does offer different versions of the Maximus and Corsair memory (expert mode) but not the versions I was most interested in. Basically I wanted to know if DSO doesn't have the parts listed on the site can you tell them what you want and they will get it?

Most builders won't do this as they only allow you to select what is listed but while browsing the forums someone mentioned that DSO would do this and I basically just wanted to confirm that.

My budget is $3,500 for the machine only and I'll be using a Samsung s23a950D Monitor.

Below is the system I put together (Ticket #644480) $3,002.00 total (I left out the items that I did not choose to shorten it down some) This will be used for gaming only.

That is not your money well spent, you got lot of waste in there.

I can config a system that can do better in most areas for much less.

as for other places being cheaper, ya there are plenty, but the quality and customer support is not the same at all. There is a reason most of decided to go wtih DS, I'm a picky buyer myself I checkout DS for a year before I bought here and it does cost more here but you are getting more.

Now you say pc is for gaming at 1900 x 1200, then this pc cost less and will blow your config away in every way:

Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the top, so you endup with 4 x 200mm fans:

haf 200mm non led fan

Ask for vcore lower then 1.4 for your oc.

If you don't see it in my build from your build, its because its a bad idea/waste, like the led fans, fans controller, noise package, h100, etc.
