My workplace is looking to replace our 3 year old workstation laptops with something more powerful. We've toyed with the idea of replacing them with mini desktops but haven't yet seen one with the power/portability we want. Having just read about the Bolt I came here to peruse but was very impressed, but a bit dismayed at how little it could be customized from the presets. Our ultimate aim is for a system with big power (we're a video editing/graphics workshop) and easy portability (that travels A LOT).
Just to give you an idea, some alternate configurations which I was hoping for would be a 3TB HDD along with an Intel 520 (480GB) SSD or alternatively just two Intel 520's. (Your gallery tab mentions 2xSSD's a possibility but it's not an option in the customization tab). A GTX 690 rather than a 680, i7-3960X... alterations which seem plausible, given of course a slightly more powerful PSU**. I'd love 32GB of memory, but I don't know of any mini-ITX boards which support it. Are you even able to discuss alternate configurations than what is offered on your website, based around a proposed "bulk" order of 6 computers? This isn't a firm offer as I'm just fishing about, but I would like to know if it's even a possibility. Cheers, **Regarding the Bolt PSU, I'm curious how you're getting by with just 500W when most GTX 680's I've found require at least 550W on their own? |

Thank you for your interest in the Bolt and our systems. We now offer customers the ability to customize the Bolt's storage. Select the Level 3 or Level 4 and you can adjust it accordingly for your needs.
Our team can help you with a custom quite if you're buying a few units. Contact us directly and we can help. The GTX 680 can easily be powered by the 500W with room to spare since it does not draw as much power as the older generations. |
