I have to say I am very impressed with the speed and power of this hybrid laptop. It saves its own battery by turning off the video card and going to on board graphics when you don't have a load on your system(perfect since I am a full time student as well). I haven't came across a game that I can't crank up the graphics and play without worrying about video lag. I really like the design of the laptop, its very user friendly and the keyboard is awesome. One of the better features I like is that the power plug actually plugs into the battery, not a port built into the side(more usb ports yay). The laptop came in great packaging, snug and secured within multiple boxes with foam padding. The only complaint I even had was someone put the wrong kind of power cord in the box(a desktop power cord won't plug in unfortunately lol), but they 2 day air mailed me one, and the battery actually lasted until I got it(haha). Great job DS! I will be buying my desktop from you guys when the time comes!
=D Thanks Digital Storm! |

Very slick!
How hefty is the laptop? I know you can get the weights and such, but different laptops just have a different "feel" to them, if that makes any sense. For instance, my old XPS was lopsided in its weight distribution, and an even older laptop felt like a brick . I didn't know about plugging directly into the battery, nice! |

Its not hefty at all actually! I've been carrying it to class with me daily and don't even noticed the weight compared to my books >< lol. It's well balanced too;no lop-sided feel to it. Everyone that sees the screen always makes the comment of how "thin" or "slim"it is. Made my friend with his aw jealous haha.

It doesn't plug directly into the battery. The DC adapter is in the back instead of on the side. I have the same laptop with different specifications, and the laptop is about 6 lbs. I use a good laptop backpack, so I don't feel the weight. Congrats on your new laptop Edited by Unlicensedhitman - 05 Apr 2011 at 1:49pm |

Sweet mouse. I have a Razer DeathAdder hooked up to my laptop as well. Are the speakers any good? I usually use a Razer Carcharias headset, but I do like just pumping up some music on my laptop speakers instead of wearing my headset every once and awhile.

@Zarako, They should not be very quiet. It may just be a speaker setting (volume) that we need to adjust. I recommend contacting our support team about this so we can help you pin-point the issue. (Please note, Monday's are usually very busy for us, so if you do call, you may have to wait to have a tech call you back).

Im not sure if you called in to customer suppport yet or if they were able to provide you with a solution, but i wanted to offer my own solution that i discovered as i was having the same problem. If you go to the task bar and click the icon that says THX TruStudio Pro Settings you will notice settings named "speaker" and "smart volume" if you click these you will probably find them set at about 50%. Just crank them up and your internal speakers should be much louder. |

Yes, I figured out that it want the THX studio. It was the "loudness" equalization. Much better now. Thanks. Incredible laptop, great price, value, and power.

@Zarako,
You can upgrade the CPU, memory, hard drives on the system. The video card might not be possible, but, if so, you can upgrade it to the GT 555M. If you want to make some upgrades, please email me directly ([email protected]) with your order number and how much you have to spend, I'll share it with our team and recommend you some upgrades that would improve your performance.
