Wow, if this is the performance you're gonna get for $240 dollars or so, and this is supposed to be the replacement of the 5700 series. Then, I truly cannot wait to see what Cayman and Antilles can do. Hopefully Antilles will fix some of the issues we experienced with the 5970. |

performance per watt, and per dollar is good, plus better tessellation, but, I am more interested on the 28Nm 7000 series though. Antilles should be powerful, but Nvidias new "ace in the hole" should be not far behind.

Haha yes that is a battle I will enjoy seeing, Antilles and the 580
. But yes that's one thing this article got wrong, this isn't Northern Islands, it is Southern Islands. And, I can't wait to see Northern Islands whenever the 28nm cards drop.

So Idk if its true or not but from what I've read from different people, the crossfire scaling on the new 6870 cards is amazing and that the performance you get either matches or surpasses that of 2 5870's, and isn't too far out of the park from 2 HTC 480's. So you could have that performance for around 220 dollars a cars, that's amazing. Also, if, these cards the replacements for the 5700 series are performing this well then I can't wait to see the results of crossfire scaling with a pair of 6950's or some 6970's. Then of course Antilles lol.
