Are you referring to liquid nitrogen cooling? If
so, the answer is no. It has the potential to be more efficient than
current heatpipe technology, but it depends on how well it's
implemented. I've seen manufacturers make poor attempts in the past and
the end result was close to heatpipe technology, but not anywhere near
its potential.
The focus on this tech would be to lighten the card and cut costs, but it could also be a better cooler. Don't expect it to be as good as a huge aftermarket cooling design, but rather, more efficient for its size and weight. |

MSI has a version of their 280gtx hydrogen cooled, I was just wondering why not that direction.

MSI Hydrogen is a heatpipe design with the ability to fill it up with liquid. It doesn't come out of the box vacuumed sealed with liquid rofl.
Sapphire already uses VCT in their Atomic lineup, it's a single slot design and is about 10C cooler than the stock double slot heatpipe cooler. |

I don't recall saying it was sealed, or anything like that
![]() my point is that if you want better cooling shouldn't one go for the best, which is hydrogen. |

Never said anything about wanting the best. AMD is just working on a more efficient and cheaper stock cooler for their GPUs.

You're comparing apples to oranges DST4ME. The hydrogen is a watercooling block and Celsia is cooling with air... photos actually show it being passive air, but I'm sure it'll depend upon which card they apply it to.

The are tickle's topic is about "GPU cooling solution", so I was commenting about gpu cooling solution and the fact that I think the best gpu cooling solution is hydrogen.
now as far as stock coolers go, I suppose this better fans, just about anything is. |

No the topic is about Celisia getting with AMD to use a "new" cooling solution for their vid cards. Not new tech of course, but new to ATI cards. Celisia's tech is an attempt to improve over their more convetional as well as heatpipe tech. Nobody is trying to compare it to liquid cooling. Also, you keep talking hydrogen as if they actually use the element Hydrogen in the named product.

It just sends out the wrong signal, I'm not fighting, and I certainly don't feel like Cat is attacking me, we are just talking.
