The much anticipated release and reviews of AMD's R9 Fury X is out. Here is a link to AnandTech where they tested the R9 Fury X. While early rumors said it would outperform NVIDIA's GTX 980 Ti and even the GTX Titan X that isn't the case. In the link I put in the R9 Fury X vs the GTX 980 Ti. As you can see the GTX 980 Ti is still the better performer.

It's not the 980 Ti killer some had hoped, but it'll still sell. AMD fans, fans of some new technology like HBM and the size of the card will attract buyers. Plus water cooled, not AIO, it'll take up a single slot.
Plus the name Fury X will be like Titan, selling by name only. Be interesting to see. ![]() Edited by bprat22 - 26 Jun 2015 at 12:00pm |

It's a solid card. The way AMD hyped it and priced it did the card a disservice. Also, by putting an embargo on the benchmarks I think was a bit sneaky. If this was about $50 cheaper, this would sell well. This card may sell better in Europe as it was substantially cheaper than the 980TI I think (although not sure after NVIDIA's price decrease there).

It'll sell but I think it will only be those that prefer Red vs. Green. I'm color blind when it comes to that having used both ATI/AMD and NVIDIA. I can't see any reason to pick this over the 980TI other than form factor maybe or wanting the AIO as it will be cooler. If it's performance and wattage, the 980TI is an easy winner...
