My main question is whether to go for the Athlon x2 6400+ 3.2ghz or the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz for the processor. It will be used for gaming and digital painting in photoshop/painter. Also, is there any point to have 4 gb ram without a 64bit OS? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd say go with Intel. When you upgrade there is a much better chance you won't have to change your motherboard as well. When you go with Intel that is.

Thanks Dashuu. Another question, would dual sli 8800gts 512s be better value than the 8800 Ultra? If so, are there any other changes which would have to be made? I've heard the Pro cases get a bit toasty.

Dashuu is right, the Intel CPU is a much better performer than the AMD regardless of clock speed, especially for what you plan to run on your system. You won't need more than 2 GB of RAM on a 32bit OS -- it's plenty.

Go with SLI if you have a really big monitor (24" or more), otherwise stick with a single video card. I would go with the 8800GTX instead of the Ultra since it's cheaper and you can OC the card to get the same performance as the Ultra. Get the Extreme case instead of the Pro case for better airflow and easier upgrade later on.

Thanks Syn. What about the 512 GTS vs dual GT's? or should I bite down for 2 GTS?

Thanks syn. Just double checking, will the 620w power supply be enough for the setup? I hope so, cause I'm already way over what I originally planned to spend, and I don't want to change the order anymore. (or I'll never get my rig)

thanks skyR. Everything's golden then. Does anyone know how the manual authorization works? Will DS call me, or should I call them? I assume I would call the 1-866-81-STORM number, as there isn't another one provided.
