After the announcements made today by Google, is anyone planning on picking one up?
The Moto360 looks pretty enticing!

I think they are pretty nifty, sadly where I work would never allow me to wear it. Or if I did I'd have to take it off any time I interacted with a client.

Moto360 is the most interesting of all the smartwatches so far. However, I'm still not seeing a compelling need for a smartwatch. But that's me. YMMV

I still don't have a smart phone, so maybe I should wait on the watch.

My better half is really pushing me to get one, I think that is just because she wants to be able to text me more errands, since I don't even text.
Give me the juicy DS rig, but no thanks on the confisticated talky-device technology. ![]() |

I have a cheap Tracfone in the glove box for road emergencies. When I'm not home, no one can get me.
Peace and quiet. ![]() Tablets and DS rig for me. Maybe a GPS some day, but then the adventure of getting lost or being called 'turn-around-Bill' is gone. ![]() |

Definitely agree on all points.
Though if they could rig up one of these smart watches with a James Bond-esque grappling hook that wouldn't snap my wrist, then I'd be sold. |

Kindle Fire 7" HD. No mic or camera like the HDX but I don't Skype, etc so it works great for me.
A lot of my very early and later day postings here are on the Kindle. |

No cell phone for me at all - only a land line. I'm on the phone most of the day at work and I can't tolerate it outside of work - lol. Like bprat said, peace and quiet!

I don't recommend the Kindle Fire as you're too much locked into Amazon's ecosystem by it, and it's more of a walled garden than even Apple devices. I'd go with an Android Nexus tablet of one size or another. Not sure if the Nexus 10 is available anymore, but a lot of places have rated the 2013 version of the Nexus 7 as one of the best tablets, period. I gave my 2012 Nexus 7 to my wife and I use the Nexus 10. Android's going to be much more flexible with what you can do to customize it than either Apple or Amazon devices. But back to the topic at hand, I've had smartphones for years and enjoy my tablets and all sorts of computing gizmos, but I just am not seeing a use yet for smartwatches. That may change in future. |
