I purchased the Marauder and it came with the AMD Piledriver FX-4300 Vishera (3.8GHz) (4 Core) (4 MB Cache) AM3+ Socket,ASUS M5A97 (AMD 970 Chipset) (SATA 6 and USB 3.0) (Socket AM3+, and the AMD Radeon HD 7750 graphics card. I noticed there's another slot for an additional graphics card.
I'm wondering if I purchased another AMD Radeon HD 7750 graphics card and installed it, if I would see an improvement in performance? I noticed that there isn't a CrossfireX port on the card itself, but AMD says that the connection can be controlled with software. Would it be better to purchase a better graphics card and have a single card, or would two CrossfireX compatible cards be the best way to go? I'm also looking for suggestions on which graphics card(s) to purchase if the dual 7750's isn't the best way to go. Thanks for your input! |

Hi mopipari... That mobo does have a second Pciex16 size slot, the black one, but it is only wired electrically for x4 lanes, meaning alot less bandwidth to carry info back and forth. The other Pciex16 is wired as 16 lanes so works very well. For the HD 7750 the smaller bandwidth probably won't matter a whole lot as far as losing performance with second card, but I'm not sure.
If budget allows, I would get the HD 7850 which will give you better performance than cf , 2x hd7750 performance and stay with single card. The 7750 is about $100 and the 7850 about $200 I believe. More money but less headaches. Plus, the single card would probably use less power and be quieter than CF. Here's a link that compares 7750 to 7850. CF would work and help with gaming and cheaper, so your call. Hope this helps.
