1) Monitor size and general resolution most games will be played on
1680x1050
2) Budget
2000-2500
3) whether you will use any equipment from your last computer on the new computer (keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor etc) that way we can budget that out of the build
Only using speakers and mouse
4) General uses to be done on the computer. (gaming, college work, internet etc.)
Gaming. College work, internet. Mostly gaming though, will keep old Dell for other applications and just have a switch box between the two.

*preferences: Upgradeable MOBO. Fast load speeds. Quad core oc to 3.5-4.0
                    Mid to mid-high range graphics card. Best bang for buck, etc.
                    Good PSU
                    Solid Media machine. Blue Ray-DVD's, etc.

My pleasure, what I posted is basically the best bang for your buck so there really isn't another way to build it to still get the same price/performance ratio, and if you add anything other then a ssd or something along those lines, you are not going to notice any performance increase in gaming.
