Decent review, shows the top single cards, stock and OC'd. Thought it was a good article, and shows that overclocking a GPU can help out a lot in some games, not so much in others. lol, and how some games tend to show better scores with Nvidia based cards, and others do better with ATI.

I like driveheaven, but why are they using a penryn and ddr2?

only thing I don't like about their reviews is that they don't use a consistent res, one game is at 1600 x 1200 and another is only at 1900 x 1200.

at least they are creditable site

Going from memory, Crysis is the only game they dropped the res down. lol kind of understandable.
The i7 does not seem to get better #'s unless in sli or tri, or quad. so I think the data should be pretty good

I don't like how they don't show multiple resolutions. ATI and Nvidia cards tend to swap places based on res. :/

I agree, wish they would have done 1680x1050 in with the others.

Really in some cases it might be worth switching to ATI depending on your res....

Why can't 1 card just win everything. It makes it so much easier to choose....

the sapphire atomic hd4890 seems to be a beast of a card, beating even the GTX 285 in some games (with an OC, that is) but they only made a limited number and they all sold out relatively quickly. Was reading up about it on OCC earlier. the 275 still seems to have an edge at lower resolutions though.

It does seem that ATI cards are closer to the nVidia cards the higher the resolution goes. On the other extreme, very low resolutions, it looks like it doesn't really matter which card you pick because you'll be getting over 100fps on everything except crysis and fallout3 (which seems to have some sort of cap set at 85fps), so unless you have inhuman eyes it would come down to preference. Everything inbetween, though, nVidia seems to be the obvious choice.

ATI seems to win on cryteks engine, everything else the nvidia cards dominate. at least that's what i've gathered from the multitude of reviews i've been reading. i just want a damn ati card to win. come on 5000 series!

those numbers will change with drivers, so they go back and forth. on most games 275 is close to 285. plus if you check games like farcry you will see the 275 does better then 4890 and its very close to 285, they only have a few games listed there.

Lol? CryENGINE was built for Nvidia cards? But then again, with my 260 I out perform the benchmarks of a 280. Go figure.

*shrug* depends where you look, some have the nvidia cards winning some have the ati cards winning, though for the most part i've seen the ati cards winning on those specific games more often than not. But i've also not run across every benchmark test, either, so who knows
