Hi All
First timer here so be gentle
After lurking these forums for some time.. I have been very impressed with the knowledge base here.. but the time has come for me to throw a build up and gather as many ideas from you good folks here on this build... My budget is flexible but would like to stay below $3,000 could go higher if I had to ( do not tell my wife ! )
My monitor is a DELL 22" Flat Panel - If I could only recall what Resolutions I used to use - Ya see I used to have a Dell XPS 720 until the MB blew up !!! sore subject and I have learned my lesson about buying into a company that boxes you into thier propietory MB's !! BTX for the loss if you know what I mean
so here goes and thanks in advance
Ticket number 436433
oh and any feelings on upgrading fans or the Aerocool monitors ?
I do not usually play with overclocks but things tend to get hot in this small office - Trying to get away from the Wife !!!!

looks good to me, if youre looking to save a little you can drop to the noctua u12p the difference is slim to none, especially considering the price difference (the 14 can use 3 fans, but comes with 2)
i cant stand behind adding a 2nd 480 later, go big or go home, more detail on this under the "add a 2nd card later" title
other than that, looks good.. youll get some grief by picking that aerocool, the haf fans are not loud and neither is the nocua 12 or 14, so its unlikely you would every actually need this.. and for the $90 it would set you back, you could just buy some really nice super quiet fans, which will give you better performance, less noise, same price.

I think upgrading the fans is a good idea as it is far cheaper than replacing overheated parts. Why take the chance, right. As far as the Aerocool it looks cool but it does not seem very useful, so ask yourself whether or not you will be having friends over checking out your rig as it is admittedly cool to look at. Also keep in mind that some Asus motherboards have fan controls built in if function is what you are after but I doubt many people choose the aerocool for function because as was previously stated neither the noctua nor the HAF case fans are loud. If you are thinking of using the aerocool to increase fan speed when the room gets hot,as I am, consider a motherboard upgrade that has fan control such as the Asus P6x58D.

Thanks for such quick responses ... I also want to ask why does everyone choose just 6GB of RAM not maybe 12 GB or is it that the difference it makes not worth the bother or are they upgrading later ?... When we talk about FAN upgrade these are the FAN upgrades that D Storm offers or your own or ? Thanks so much again folks and any other thoughts are appreciated

what i meant was getting specialty fans that are expensive and super quiet, you could easily order them and send them to DSO to be installed, or you could do it yourself
glad you liked the FAQ
