Hi All.. I hope all is well. So I have my new DS rig coming in about a week. The last two pieces to the "Dream Machine" puzzle are anti-virus software and a monitor.
Anti-virus: What is the best one to get? Norton Internet Security or Norton 360? Anyother recomendations?
Monitor: I am looking a a 22 ich. I have read up on some Dells that are rated high ut I am looking for the expertise of those in the forum for advice. I trust and respect your opinions.
So what are the best 22inch monitors to get?
Thanks,
Chief

I have Norton. Used to be a resource hog, but 2009 is dramatically better.
I just went with the Samsung T220 22 inch. Hasn't arrived yet, nor has my rig(stage 5). It rated better than the Dell in everything I have read, for what's that worth. I'll see soon. Edited by Doc - 06 May 2009 at 10:04am |

So far as Anti-Viruses go...stack up. I have all 3 of the major brands (Norton, McAfee and Symantec). Then again, I have access to getting these for free.
And as for monitors, I'd go with Asus. I have this exact model: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052
And I love it. It's larger than I thought I could afford and the picture quality is amazing for both gaming and the art I do. I expect you have simular cost restrictions as I did as you're looking for a 22", so I'm not going to tell you to go out and get a 30" Samsung.
But don't just take my word for it, that model is one of the highest rated of all the products on Newegg.
And as for DELL...I distrust anything with those letters on it. Reffer to my previous post: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=6705 Edited by Hammer - 06 May 2009 at 10:10am |

I have never had any problems with, Dell other then the fact that you can't upgrade them, however they do have some good monitors. I have a few of them, I using a 24" on this PC that is like 5 years old Edited by DST4ME - 06 May 2009 at 3:47pm |

I am pretty new here but I finally got rid of on Norton and our tech guy at work swears by comodo which is free. I also downloaded the anti-spam and it works good too. And my systems performance increased noticeably, especially at start up.
