Anti virus... do you use it? What do you use?
On my laptops at home I use Norton Security suite since it comes free with my Comcast/Xfinity internet service. Do you guys use any security software? Why do you use your choice? Is there a 'best' one? Now that I've ordered my DS rig I'm on to thinking about what i should do about security. I forget what Windows 8.1 comes with as standard but I know it has something...but is it good enough..? |

I use Microsoft Security Essentials for my computer and it has worked good for me so far.
From what i read about the windows 8.1 security, what it has should be good enough. http://www.techradar.com/us/news/software/operating-systems/windows-8-1-security-what-s-been-improved-1156705 Also some people like DST4ME use Eset and he recommends it http://www.eset.com/us/ Edited by ArkansasWoman777 - 15 Nov 2013 at 8:56am |

ESET looks good. I've never heard of it but just checked out their website. Clearly its fully featured, but why should I get something like that over just using the built in Microsoft Security Essentials? Do the benefits justify the cost?

MSE doesn't work for windows 8, Windows 8 comes with Windows Defender which has been improved and from what i read it will provide the same protection as MSE. Guess i forgot to mention i'm using Windows 7, sorry. Edited by ArkansasWoman777 - 15 Nov 2013 at 8:51am |

I use Kaspersky Internet Security and have used it for several years and am happy with it. I believe ESET is also well rated and seemed to be preferred by a lot of people.
