I've been using Avast's free edition for several years. I think ESET is pretty popular on the forum though.

ESET and Malwarebytes Premium and now use a VPN. Also changed my EMAIL provider to Hushmail which is excellent. I was hacked through the Equifax breach last year and it was horrific.

I have been using Norton for some years now. Its good when your subscription is active, but if you forget to renew it then it has a funny way of reminding you.

Norton? No. Too big, too intrusive, too much hassle. But then again that's just the opinion of most gamers. Maybe I shouldn't generalize, but I, for one, am not a fan. |

I use a combo of things. main AV is actually just good ol' defender. I use Malwarebytes and I also use ccleaner for my routine "cleaning up" tasks. I know ccleaner isn't an AV but its part of my routine.
Discipline and keeping on top of maintenance tasks like keeping things update, running scans often, etc. is going to protect you more than any "magic super brand" of AV product out there -- I don't care who says otherwise. Especially the discipline part....that's watching what you do with your pc in the first place..don't open unfamiliar emails, don't go to suspicious websites, etc. etc. Edited by Tomsal - 28 May 2018 at 5:31am |
