Topic: antivirus software Posted: 20 Nov 2012 at 4:47pm |
Hello all,
I recently purchased an ODE level 1, and I don't have any antivirus software to protect it. Im hoping to keep this computer for at least 5 years and use it often. I will NOT download any torrents, nor will I visit a single porn site, but I just want to be sure my PC is secure. What are some of the best antivirus softwares? I'm a little hesitant to buy anything as I know there are free antivirus downloads on the internet. Any input would be appreciated. |

I also have used MS Security Essentials on my laptop with zero problems. My desktop uses whatever Comcast has free.

I had a license for Norton Internet Security so that is what I am using but I am with Cash. If you want something that is free, low system resources you can not go wrong with Microsoft Security Essentials. I actually use it on my laptop running XP Pro. |

Eset and Malwarebytes. They have caught everything that has been thrown at me. You can't go wrong with these two in the tank.

I have used Norton 360 for many years on the computers at my place. Seems like each year the software improves and uses fewer system resources, updates itself to stay current on the latest threats, and I have had no problems.

I use Kaspersky Pure 2.0 because it has a "gaming profile" that turns off some of the AV features whilst playing so you can maintain maximum FPS.
It also has the advantage of having built-in 3-PC's-at-a-time support per package. |

I really like avast!. The Internet Security level offers the protection I need in one easy to use package that is well rated and with a very good price point.
