I am looking to buy a gaming PC. My monitor is currently an old hp 1440x900 so it will get an upgrade eventually. I am not interested in gaming on 2 monitors or in 3d so SLI is not too big for me.

I would probably get a new one around Christmas. Maybe 1920x1080. depends on the price

Ok well here is the deal.
for 1920x1080 res we recommend single 570 with option to go sli. option to go sli means a psu and mobo that can do it. they are not going to fit in our budget. so looking at your build and ode 1, its clear that your money is best spent on ode 1 since you get better price and better cpu, cpu cooler, and oc vs your config. I just tried to do a custom config and the way these ode-s are priced, there is no way to beat them, my config comes way over budget. So have you checked out ode 1 yet? |

I just looked at the ode 1 and it does seem like the best option for me. But the mobo still doesn't support sli?

Yes the psu nor the mobo can do sli of 570/580. but for our budget it has the best bang for the buck.
to get sli ability as I mentioned is not gonna fit in our budget, that would come out to around $1800. I wanted you to know what we recommend vs what budget allows, so you have a clear vision of what we need and were we are at before you make your decision. budget allows single gpu, we need sli for best results. so either we wait and save up some more, or buget is what it is and we go with ode 1. How well do you think the ode 1 will handle games like skyrim and bf3 when they come out

@1920x1080, you have to turn down settings, we have already seen a single 580 take a beating with bf3, for those games you gonna want sli if you ask me.
My recommendation in this case is that if its possible to wait and get a system that can do sli, so you can add a second gpu down the road in a few months. |

if you budget allows, go for ode 2, that has sli 570. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Jul 2011 at 4:24pm |

They are ok, I would not recommend them for your res, they will do great with some games but other games and future games are gonna give them trouble.
