Hi guys, this will be my first time purchasing from DS and looking at the below config. This rig will mainly be used for work and gaming. I am hoping to be able to play games like Cyberpunk at ultra 1440p (I am using a ultrawide screen monitor with 3440x1440 resolution. Is this rig overkill? Any suggestions on any parts? Should the 3080 be water cooled? Just worried its going to be too noisy. Thanks!!!

It is not overkill. Even though I went with Intel on an ASUS ROG Hero XII Wifi board, everything else is pretty much the same. Yep, 3080 and perfectly runs my 34" ultra wide at 144Hz in 1440.
You have a very good PC there that will do you wonders well into the future.

I won't argue with that. You might look into the 6800XT vs the 3080, and the synergy it brings pairing with the Ryzen 5900X. That card may well be more available right now, and it is no way a compromise IMHO.

Thanks guys.

Does the Lynx work well with this build or will the Velox be better?

That build will work just fine in the Lynx, no worries.
