I think this is a really solid build. My only observation is with the Vortex CLC you selected. I don't have the specs for that cooler, but I can see from videos such as the following that the 10900K wants to run hot:

Spend $45 and upgrade to Windows 10 Professional. Doing so allows you to have much more control over when Microsoft upgrades are applied to the system. That alone is worth it since I assume you have a significant audience.
DS offers a free Stage 1 CPU overclocking. Your cooler should easily handle that. Have fun! I look forward to hearing about it. |

I think you might want to downsize your primary drive. I'd get the 500GB, but at least you should reverse them. One of the great benefits of having a smaller NVMe primary is all the system scans are finished in seconds. If you end up scanning anything like 1.5-2GB it'll seem like you Have an HDD.
Not exactly sure what the take-away from the video is supposed to be, but it says pretty clearly that the 10900K at stock does not run too hot under AOI cooling. It also seems to say that under extreme stress, an AIO still does it's job. Having said that, I don't think you'll get much benefit from an overclock in your use. For sustained loads, that can be a good thing, but gaming and streaming are variable loads. IMHO, the CPU will run hotter all the time when it doesn't need to. it will turbo-boost when it needs to. One more thing. If you're not pushing 4k, you don't need a 2080Ti. We are just 3 months away from a whole new Nvidia release expected to take a sizeable leap forward at every level. Expectations are you'll get better than 2080Ti performance from a "3080" at ~$800-900. Much better ray-tracing as well. Worth a mention. Edited by Cretae - 16 Jun 2020 at 4:53am |
