yeah its only 10% slower than an old Gen 1 Intel.
it is a fast drive' but for the price it seems like an extremely poor choice

thats only in read, in other stuff its much faster.
the rest of the article shows it being better then the old gen x-25 and new one in many things. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Mar 2010 at 3:12am |

yep it is fast, but small reads are the most important for most users.

Just ordered it to test it, I like the looks of it, its a good starter while I wait for the the new gens to come out with better speeds and 6GB/s interface, plus have to wait for a real sata 3.0 mobo.
besides according to that chart crucial is king, do you agree with that? Edited by DST4ME - 17 Mar 2010 at 4:48am |

I think that crucial drive has trouble with write latency. Max write latency is as bad as those old JMicron drives. |

waiting till this fall, for next gen Intel. Looking at the wear leveling, latancy, ect, I just don't see any drive that I want.... a 320 Gb Intel 6Gbs for the original price of a 160 Gb G2 sounds like a much better idea. And I have had real SATA 3.0 since June, so the only hold up is Intel's progress. Edited by justin.kerr - 17 Mar 2010 at 8:49am |
