So over the last few weeks, I've been having a strange issue, I've looked around the internet and there are many fixes, but they are all specific to the brand of laptop. Basically, my keyboard randomly stops registering keystrokes for a split second, sometimes the window flashes, sometimes not. There are a few things that could theoretically be the cause, but these are complete guesses, I haven't found any concrete evidence.

This paragraph is basicaly just to show what hapens, I'm sloly chaning my speed from fster to slower because t has a prety good distributon throughout al of the leters, if i type fast eough i can avoid it sometimes but likely as i type slowr now it wil start to show up moe when i go to a slowe speed rather than typin as fast as i possily can.

This is terrible when programming, and I'm hoping someone wll know what happened, I have DisplayFusion running right now, and I have the x15 laptop, I currently have a Dell monitor hooked up to it right now, but the problem persists even if i display DisplayFusion and I unplug the moniter. If anybody has dealt with this problem, I would really appreciate someadvice

*Also, I ran a virus scan with microsoft security essentials (I heard the problem could be caused by keyloggers)
**I don't fully trust MSE, so I downloaded AVG 2013, and ran a full scan aswell, both came up clean.

(time to go back and fix everything haha)

Try doing a Window's system restore to when the issue was not occurring.

Also, you can try botting of a live operating system CD such as this one (http://www.ubcd4win.com/downloads.htm). It will let you load into a cut down version of Windows in which you could see if the keyboard issue is still happening or not.

If it is not happening, then you'll need to most likely do a clean install of Windows. If it is still happening, then it appears to be a hardware issue and we may need to have the unit come in for service.

I tried doing a system restore to way before it began happening and it didnt change anything unfortunetly. When I'm home next I'll do a reinstall of Windows and see if that fixes the problem.

Well nothing has fixed it, I did a clean install of windows, system restores, went into many different settings mentioned in forums online, and the problem is just getting worse. What would be the course of action for sending the unit in for service. Possibly not for a few weeks or a month however.

Hi Krum813... I'm late to this but have you tried pulling the keyboard and reseating the ribbon cable to the underside?

Its a long shot but you have little to lose. Pull the battery before doing this.

Good luck.

That might fix it, I've seen flakey issues get resolved that way.

If that does not fix it, or if you're not up to it, get in touch with our team by calling us or sending a message via the "Support" at the top. It may take a few weeks depending on how serious the issue is.

So heres my issue, I attempted to take the keyboard off, I'm not sure why the screws were a little bit stripped, but I was unable to get all 5 black screws out. I'll send a message to see what can be done now, thanks for everyone that helped.

Sometimes a stripped screw can be removed by prying upward under the head of the screw with your fingernail or small screwdriver while you unscrew it.

It's not a given thats the fix so up to you of course.

Good luck.
