Does anyone know the network speed (100mb or 1000mb) of the "High speed network port (supports high-speed cable / dsl / network connections)" port?

Mines 10/100/1000.  Its at least 100, which only a few ISP's offer anyway...

It depends on your motherboard that you selected.
 
About 90% of the boards all have up to 1GB network connectivity ports.

I have the nVidia 790i Ultra Core 2 Quad nForce 790i Ultra SLI.

Since it's for a top of the line system, I'm assuming it's got the 1000mhz port.....

I don't really know the speed - it's DSL, but I'm planning to switch to FIOS (10-20mbps) if Verizon ever wires up the neighborhood.

stevew, test your speed here to see what you are getting, pic the closest location to you.

I have a 2mbps/20mbps fios from rcn right now, its great and even then I'm still no where near the 100mbps that any card can do inshort, what ever you got is more then enough. so like alex said, there that 1GB limit that me and you would love to max, but can't even get near

the 1000 ports really come in handy when your doing gaming/networking between 2 comps etc.

Actually, Japan is putting a 1GB infastructure down soon...I guess all our gaming servers should be moved to Japan then...
 
Seriously, does anyone have an ISP which offers more than 20Mb?  Cablevision does 10Mb standard with upgrades up to 20, but I know plenty of guys who still have to run a 256kb comcast connection.

True... but if your network card is *slower* than your ISP, then you're hurting all the more.  I just soon have a 1G card and a 20MB ISP.  That way, I have twice the speed if I have 10MB card and a 20MB ISP.

Though some DSL's can go into the G range... or so they claim.  Ouch

Actually, Verizon via FIOS offers 10, 20 and 50mbps (for a substantial fee)...
 
Pretty zippy, but still not 1gb...

ya version fios has higher download speeds, there is 30mpbs like RE2GT said, I think there is a 50mbps also, but I'm not sure on that

Q: Difference between megabits, and megahertz?
A: When they refer to network speed, they quantify it in megabits per second. This is the amount (or speed) in which the data is transferred. Megahertz refers to the analog frequency of the carrier signal that is used to transmit the data. One hertz, is completed when the carrier signal goes from zero, to it's positive peak, back to zero, to it's negative peak, and back to zero again. 500-1000ms lag time wont be any fun

DeadDeadDead  even with a fast connection latency still plays a huge role
