APC 1500VA Uninterrupted Power & Surge Conditioner - BR1500G

What is this? Is it just a fancy version of your average surge protector? I don't know too much about electricity and plug outlets and stuff like that.

For my computer I'm planning on getting the 1200W Corsair AX1200i power supply. would this work well with that surge protector?

Does this surge protector keep your computer running for a couple minutes even if there is a power outage so you can save your files?

Hi funeralpyre88,

It is a battery back up with an output capacity of 825 watts. It depends on the load on it as to how long it will keep whatever is hooked up to it powered. It has a little multifunction screen that will tell you the run time with what is hooked to it. The UPS's that will cover all 1200 watts are more expensive and you probably don't need them. If you ever get the two psu option you have to get two ups's, one for each. They are very handy if you have small power disruptions like we do in S. Fla whenever it rains and the tree branches ground out power lines.

What is the difference between the "Digitally-Controlled power supplies" and the regular ones? I feel tempted to get the 1200W power supply simply because its "digitally controlled".
