..that's really bad when someone pays over $5000 to your company for a laptop and has no place on your forum site for those people wishing to upgrade, trade or sell older units......there are very few outlets to sell high end used units and the people in the know about your products is the absolutely best place to post them for sale..........people on eBay and Craigslist want to spend a lot less money and have no idea how high end these units are...I guess Digital Storm does not stand behind their product for too long, I paid over $5000 for this unit a year ago and can't even sell it for $2000 (it has been used only 3 times)

Nothing to do with them standing behind their product. People want the latest stuff. Electronics hold their value very poorly. Typical loss for somewhat current electronics is 50%. It gets worse from there.
There's exceptions. I have sold TVs with less of a loss, but not sure that's true anymore Highly specialized gear like synthesizers can hold it's value But generally, don't buy electronics thinking you can recoup much of your spend later on. And that's not DSs fault. As for their forums, it's common to not allow sales on many forums in my experience. |

if Digital Storm stood behind their products they would have no reason not to have a section for sales of used products built and sold by them on their forum site

Digital Storm has made a determination as to the advertising of previously owned units on this web site. Digital Storm's stated policy (referenced above) does not allow said advertising.
Any concerns with this policy should be directed toward the management of Digital Storm at ([email protected]) Edited by Snaike - 12 Feb 2015 at 2:14am |

I'm not taking sides here, policy is policy, but not being able to sell a $5000 pc for even $2000 on the forum isn't indicative of DS quality or support, or standing behind a product. DS doesn't have any control over us. The used laptop isn't selling because people come here for new, with the warranty that goes with it.
I'm not commenting anymore on the topic. I know, some are saying, "good".

Also instead of arguing with us and what not, just move on. Drop the price to less than 1000 dollars, cut your losses and in the future don't buy such an expensive item if you know you aren't going to use it. Edited by ArkansasWoman777 - 12 Feb 2015 at 4:34am |

As a Customer who has been reading these forums for over a year and posting since Last year and now finally a verified customer.. I can assure you they do stand behind their product. Standing behind what they build and sell does not mean they have to help you or me sell it when we no longer want it. I agree with Bprat maybe you should not have bought such an expensive computer.. I suspect you are having money issues and decided paying that much money for a laptop was more than you should have and are trying to recoup some of your loss. Trust me I understand, I think we all have made those mistakes.. But the issue I have is instead of you learning from your mistake your blaming others, which means you will only repeat it. If I had 2000$ I would buy the laptop from you.. My old Asus G72 is only good for word processing now, But I have some expensive dental bills coming and need to save my spare cash. Place it on Craigs list, Try Ebay... If you use Ebay take some good shots and set your minimum bid for 1500$ you might be surprised at what it really will sell for. Good Luck |

I'd first try friends, family and co-workers. You can link to that machine at DS on a bulletin board or ad on e-bay or whatever. Most people don't know what a behemoth is. They would probably ask them selves why is this guy trying to sell a monster? is it a statue or what? So, a link to it here at DS and a good description would help in getting it sold.
I think if you had a problem with it DS would firmly stand behind it. I'm a fairly new customer but DS has gone 'above and beyond' for me. They sell new machines and, as every company I know of, don't support customers selling privately owned stuff. I understand the frustration but it's more a matter of marketing your item than DS standing behind their products. |
