Does anyone on here own an Astro A40 headset? If so what do you think about them.

Yes i have owned them they are great...

1 sound is top notch in game music etc "suggests Sound card over Onboard sound"
2 Awesome in game can tune them to only hear in game noise IE foot steps etc.

Cons
Not wireless
MIXAMP is known to break "Mine did not"
Logitech G35 are more then comparable at a cheaper price
Logitech G930 are new and wireless and they are 159.99 and they sound just as good if not better then the A40's and the A50's.

My personal set is

Beyerdynamic MX300

Hope this helps make your mind up.

Always,

Evil

I was actually looking in 5.1 or 7.1 headsets yesterday. What's the best for PC, PS3, Xbox360 compatible? I was having a hard time finding a good set for not too much $$

I have an a40 2012.

It is a very good mic. Sound quality is top of the line. Extremely comfortable. Lots of connectivity options. Good design. I have the wired version, never had a issue with them. Only downside is that after an hour of use my hair is flat in the middle.

I know some people recommend the Sony Pulse headset which is only compatible with the pc and ps3 but the only downside to it is the battery life. Lasts about 4 to 6 hours on a single charge.

There are turtle beach headsets that are compatible with all three but i don't know which ones.

Yeah i owned a set of Turtle Beach i was not impressed as i was with Astro's.
Being an Audiophile turtle beach is more like owning a kids toy to me then other brands such as

Beyerdynamic
Sennheiser
Technika
Astro
Logitech
etc...

I had the Turtle Beach XP Seven and the sierra  returned both and i personally do not care for there support on there site. Each to there own though

I also don't want to buy anything until i see what the ps4 and xbox one will be compatible with. I'd like one nice hjeadset for all 3 systems.

I bought the a40 astro of that auction site about 4 months ago and love them. Great sound and the bass is outstanding.

When i bought mine it came with the brand new mixamp 5.8 ghz that actually turned my a40 into a wireless headset.
