Alright,
I feel bad asking on these forums, but at the same time I know this is a great community. I was planning on going with a DS pc but as of late due to financial means I figured I would save and gain by building my own PC this round. Save because I can splurge a little more on parts because I am building it myself, and gain because this will be my first PC that I build. (P.S. I plan on getting a laptop for my girlfriend and I around tax time so dont worry I still plan on ordering from DS when it comes to that lol) However, I do have a question. I plan on getting a 120G SSD along with a 1T HDD. I will be going with the i7 2600k Processor. Now as you see in the title I am having trouble choosing a mobo, and I am having trouble finding/understanding the difference between the two boards. ASUS P8P67 Deluxe or ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe? And not only the difference but the understanding of said differences. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

You can ask about your own pc in this section, one of many things we love about DS, they let us do just about anything here, within reason, lol.
so you want to build your own, good for you. the z68 takes advantage of the new gpu that comes with the cpu. the features are new and buggy and unless you are into video transcoding and such you don't want to deal with that stuff. your 120GB ssd should be either 320, c300 or m4, mobo should be deluxe if you want to go sli, if not then just the regular p8p67 will do, psu you want the 850hx or 1050hx by corsair(so that you can go sli, otherwise 750hx for single gpu system) , ram should be mushkin for good performance and price, for case go with haf for good air flow, get your self a good air cooler, see if you can fine the Noctua NH-U12P (this is a dual fan model) if not then the a70 or the noctua d14 will do, for 1TB go with black caviar for its speeds, its a good hdd, now for gpu I can't tell you what to go with unless I know your res. |
