While seemingly endlessly waiting for my build I have been doing more research into my build.
MB: Asus Prime Z390-P CPU: i7-9700K GPU: RTX 2070 Super I am getting worried I cheeped out to much on the MB and won’t be able to get the max performance out of my CPU? Anyone have experience with this combo or similar? Definitely not right out of the box but I was hoping to do some over clocking in the future as well. Edited by Andrewmg08 - 11 May 2020 at 6:24am |

There are a number of reviews of the Z390-P MB. For heavy overclockers, the Z390-P VRMs will not be adequate to prevent power limit throttling. If your plan is to run your 9700K at 5GHz all-core, you should consider upgrading your MB. If you plan on running stock (still 4.7 GHz all-core) you should be OK.

Here's an informative review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZcqw-K1drY[/QUOTE] Thanks, that’s actually the video that triggered my research. Trying to find more info because my build is in stage three and idk if it’s worth it at this point to make a change and cause more delays. From what I can find if I run stock I shouldn’t see any loss of performance. But finding info from people who overclock on them seems tough. |

Guys, could you please teach me how to post working links here? I use"Insert Hyperlink", and... nope.

@Cretae
Here's a little tutorial to how I post hyperlinks: First thing you'll want to do is to open the full editor. Within the full editor, click on the insert hyperlink. Notice that the "http://" is highlighted. When prompted, paste your link directly over the highlighted area. Finally, your post should look like this: Here is the link (circular, but hey): You can always hit preview post if you would like to see if the links were included in the post. I had to paste the link twice. First time, the box is empty. The second time, only the http:// is highlighted. Paste your link right over. And Voila! https://www.digitalstorm.com/forums/new_reply_form.asp?TID=51415&PN=1&TR=4 |

With apologies to the OP; @GrandesBollas: Thank you. That is a nice tutorial. I am sure Cretae was not the only one with that issue. Now if only to remember where it is.
