Maybe stupid question but I can not find the answer searching the internet.

I do not use raid.

Is the Asus sata driver only for raid? My system came from Digital Storm last summer using Microsoft drivers for storage controllers so I guess the Asus driver is only for raid?

Everything is working fine but I just updated to windows 11 and wanted to be sure I had the best drivers.

thank you.

Primarily, yes.

On the Intel side, it's a little more complicated because of their Rapid Storage Technology and Intel Optane, which coexists/relies on RST (as far as I am aware).

Anyway...

I try to stay on top of driver updates and my Ryzen 5600X on ROG Strix B550-I motherboard system uses the standard Microsoft driver (released circa 2006) for the SATA controller.

The chipset (driver) is the closest related (excluding RAID software).

Thank you. I will ignore the Asus sata driver.

I have the latest chipset installed and I have blue tooth and wifi turned off in bios so I do not need those drivers and yes the 2 drivers for the storage controllers are Microsoft from 2006.

Strange to see Microsoft Standard NVM express driver from 2006 when Wikipedia says NVM express started being used in 2011. On my old computer I had a Asmedia add on sata card and I was always looking for a new driver.   On my new system the most recent is Microsoft from 2006
