Finally after a year of reading these forums and wanting a DSO system, my current system, a cyberpowerpc (sigh, if only I knew about DSO then), has finally died. I put in my order for a DSO system over the president day weekend and would like to thank everyone on this board for their inputs, mainly DST and !ender. I have learned a great deal in configuring my system because of you guys. Thank you. In case anyone is interested here was my config:
Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X

I did also add the recommended 200mm fans as DST had suggested. I opted for option 1 to continue with my build instead of waiting for the revised boards. I mean hey how often will I be using my CD drive? Not very often. I do plan on doing SLI in the near future. I know I should've gone with the 570..but hey I had an extra $200 and no where to blow it on haha. And as for the priority shipping...I know I'm an impatient guy, what can I say. Besides I'm computer-less and internet-less at the moment, it is killing me! I will definitely be posting a review once I receive the system.
Together with my computer I also order a Dell U2311H. This is going to be an exciting next few weeks for me.

That is going to be an awesome rig. I am quite jealous of your budget.
Congrats!
Meanwhile, was your previous experience with ************ as bad as everyone says? I started out looking at them before I learned about DSO. I definitely think we made the right choice coming here. Enjoy the wait, I know I am.

Haha, you caught me there. Hopefully, my noctua fans will keep the load/idle temps good too. Kinda worried about that. |

I just got my computer. I have a question.
My CPU-Z says my core speed is at 1.6ghz, but when i stress the comp with Linx, it goes up to 4.6hz. The voltage also jumps around from up to 1.34. Is this normal?
Also, I noticed that with Realtemp, when I run Linx, my load never says 100%, it always stays at 0.0%. Anyone know what's going on?

Not sure about your load and realtemp problem is but in task manager what does your load say when you run linx?
the reason your oc jumps is because of speed step, what it does is keep the cpu speed low when its not needed, but as soon as you need the power, it jacks it backup to the oc speed of 4.6. This is to keep the chip cool and relaxed when power is not needed. |

why reinstall cpuz? its not doing anything wrong.
keep speedstep or disable it in the bios, either way won't matter much if you have no problems. |

Sorry I mean Real Temp. My Real Temp 3.60 read 0.00 ghz and 0.0% load at all times. I had to download a newer version for sandy bridge and then it worked out good.
DST, What is the best way to test my cpu overclock and load temps? Should I open Real Temps then run LinX on ALL setting for 20 times? Does that work?

You can do that, or you can run intelburn, I like to use fah smp client for cpu and the gpu client for gpu, it puts them to good work quick.

Thanks DST. During my runs, I've noticed that my vcore jumps around up to 1.35. However, the digitalstorm overclock email says that the vcore is set to 1.296. Is there a reason for this difference? My load temps are max at 77C. That's kinda high? |

I see. Ok, cool thanks. Also, my case is really loud. It's the fans, they are pretty loud. I'm not sure if that is normal or not. I can hear the fans standing 15 feet away. Is that normal?

Unless they use different fans than the 932, it should actually be astoundingly quiet. He may be hearing the loud GPU fans, hard to say unless he can narrow down the loud fans for us. |

It's definitely not the GPU fans because I can hear them roar up when I stress them 100%. I think it's the rear fan or the noctua fan. I'm not sure.

That is strange, you are the first to say you got a loud fan from the case or noctua, did you have them change any fans?

No, they should be all stock fans. Not sure what to do. Was thinking about disconnecting the rear fan and turning on the computer to see if that's the case causing the noise or the noctua fans. When I do isolate the problem, what should I do? Change the fans?
